Frequently Asked Questions
Total Cost For Cheer: $950 for uniform, bag, shoes, warm ups, practice clothes, poms, bows. These are all yours to keep! The SchoolPay website is utilized to pay in payments or in one lump sum. The first payment of $475 is due June 30th. The second payment is due September 1st. We do have fundraising such as the Goodwill Trailer and our Kids Clinic during football season.
Our team is fully committed to our entire season together. We have essentially 3 seasons: Football, Basektball, and COMPETITION!
Planning on doing other sports (club soccer, competitive volleyball, all-star cheer/dance, etc...) or have other commitments will not work with our schedule of practices and games.
We were STATE CHAMPIONS in 2023 and 2025 and have earned a ticket to the championship the last three years. We also compete locally and in the area.
In cheer, we need EVERYONE at EVERY practice and competition. If you cannot commit to the full YEAR, our team will not be a good fit.
During football we practice 3-5 times a week and have games on Fridays. We cheer at home and away games. During football we lead the crowd in cheers and support our Riverhawks!
We travel to away games, regional, and WIAA State championship tournaments!
During basketball season we cheer at all home and away games for the girls and boys teams. We follow them through playoffs and hope to see them at State!
This is also our competition season so we are INCREDIBLY busy. We practice 4-5 times a week and have games.
Tumbling is always fun to see but it is not a requirement. This year we competed in the non-tumbling category. If you have any tumbling skills, show them off.
Any skills will be expected to be thrown on a football field, track, basketball court, or cheer mat. We currently do not compete or cheer on a spring floor.
Everyone tries out each year for the team. We look for athletes that have potential to learn, that have spirit to bring, and that our coaching styles/philosophies mesh well with. We do not have a set number of athletes we plan on offering a spot on the team. Cheer is physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding. BUT IT IS SO MUCH FUN!
We compete in TRADITIONAL and GAME DAY! We work for months to prepare a routine that showcases our talents. We have competed with 21 to 29 on the floor in the previous years. We do not have a 'set' number for athletes on the floor for either routine. The routine and amount of the floor is based off of skills, rubrics, and what is best for the TEAM!
Academics are HUGE!! In order to tryout, you need to have a 2.0 and passing 4 of 5 classes. You also need to have GREAT attendance. IF you don't go to classes, you will not be allowed at practice. If you don't practice, you don't cheer! We need to put STUDENT in STUDENT ATHLETE!
